Stacey Tannenbaum is a Senior Modeler in the Pharmacology Modeling and Simulation (M&S) group at Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Her areas of interest include the quantitation of drug action, disease progression, and dose-exposure-response, and the application of M&S towards making more effective and efficient drug development decisions. After completing her BSE in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University, Dr. Tannenbaum studied Pharmaceutical Sciences and Applied Mathematics at the University of Arizona, receiving her Ph.D. in 2001. She spent the following two years completing an International Fellowship in Drug Development and Regulatory Science at Georgetown's Center for Drug Development Science (CDDS), under the direction of Carl Peck, which included a three month Pharmacometrics internship at the FDA's Office of Clinical Pharmacology and Biopharmaceutics. After her fellowship, Dr. Tannenbaum joined the Modeling and Simulation group at Novartis. Dr. Tannenbaum has held a leadership position for the Modeling and Simulation Focus Group of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS) for the past 5 years, and is a board member of the Clinical Pharmacology and Translational Research Section of AAPS. She is also the co-founder and co-Chair of MoSAiC (Modeling and Simulation Applications in Clinical Pharmacotherapy), a networking group for modelers working in the New Jersey and Philadelphia area. Dr. Tannenbaum is also the organizing committee chair of the American Conference on Pharmacometrics, the first U.S. national modeling and simulation conference.
